Resume call on hold from an ATA line

If a call is placed on hold from a VoiP phone, can an ATA with the same line resume the call? Researching Cisco and other documentation, I believe the only way would be to Park the call from the VoIP phone. To resume the call, the Call Park code would then be entered from the ATA line.

I tried enabling Autobarge on the ATA - when the line is in use on a VoIP phone and I go off hook on the ATA, I hear dial tone as usual. If I place the call on hold on the phone then go off hook with the ATA, get a fast busy when going off hook. With Autobarge disabled I tried **6 from the ATA in both cases, when the line was connected on a call, and on hold - got fast busy.

If the call is answered on the ATA. that can be placed on hold with a hookflash and resumed on the VoIP phone. But when answered on the VoIP phone, the only other way I can think of so far would be to have a 2nd line. This wouldn't be practical as it's somewhat complicated - transfer the call to the 2nd line, then back to the prime line which is also the ATA.
