Just upgraded a MICS from 4.0 to 6.0 and a NAM from 4.04a to 4.1.
For the MICS upgrade:
- I just had to power down and swap the software feature cartridges - reused the NVRAM cartridge.(It took about 15 to 20 minutes for the phones to stop flashing.)
- All programming remained :-D
- All exsisting system speed dial phone numbers remained :-D :-D - They automatically went from 2 digit to 3 digit codes.
- All Line renumbering - Target Lines included - updated automatically :-D :-D :-D - the only glitch was that I had to change a few lines back to "tone" - for some reason they went to "pulse"??
For the NAM upgrade I had the NAM 4.1 software and the 4.1 keycode:
- When I input the keycode it gave me an error tone and the display read "identical keycode" - seems to me the keycode is not required when going from 4.0 to 4.1.
- So I just put the boot diskette in the NAM and the Voicemail software CD in the backpack CD rom drive and rebooted the NAM. The whole upgrade took about 20 minutes.
- All voicemail programming remained
- Only had to change the AA lines anwsered because of the MICS upgrade.
Overall the whole upgrade was as easy as pie.
