This might not be the right forum. If so please, correct me to the correct forum.
When I download files from websites, I get a message box stating that
The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on the computer. Please contact your system administrator.

Thanks

This is a security setting in your browser.
It is set to attempt to protect users from downloading hostile files.
Consult w/your system admin about the browser settings or search the MicroSoft IE site for security setting recommends and explanations.

are you part of a domain? are you an admin on that machine?
you are probably a User on that machine and con not launch applications. Or the domain has a Global setting preventing certain types of files being launched.

I am part of a domain and no one in the domain can download anything. However, i have been asked by admin to install a software ( FTP Client). This would enable me to do the download.

Thanks everyone for the response.
