Hi all,

Does anyone know how to restrict users (WinXP Pro) from changing the background image? Incidently, all the users are part of the default "user" group.

Thanks,

CzarJ

Hi czarj,

Run gpedit.msc from the run prompt and navigate to User Configuration, Adminstrative Templates, Control Panel, Display. There are several options here to disable display tabs and prevent access so users cannot change the default background image. I don't think there is any policy that exists (excluding third party tools) which restricts only the background image but allows other dispaly setting to be changed.

Mark

User Configuration, Adminstrative Templates, Desktop, Active Desktop. See the discussion of the policy object to prohibit changes.
