I have a little problem.
Recently, because we have frequent visitors to a restricted area, I added dry contacts to open door locks by dialing an extension.
I added a COR to only allow folks in that department access to those extensions at the doors.
Works great except for one thing.
Outside calls can call those numbers without restriction.
We've been using these extensions for awhile so I really would rather not change extension numbers to a non-DID number.
Can anyone think of another way?
Thanks,
-Randy

On the COR used for these door locks, try changing the Called Party Restriction to 'Public'. That should prevent the stations from being reached through your trunks. You can also change the Calling Permissions in the COR on the DID trunks to prevent the trunks from calling the COR of the door lock Stations.

Or re-route the DDI to another extension.

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks a bunch guys. I changed the cor Called Party Restriction to Public and now those calls go to the operator, which is perfect.

I would say that its good you fixed the problem, but why didn't you just use non DID numbers?

Another option is to change the incoming call handling treatment for those DID's. That would let you redirect the calls to whoever you want (You? attd?) and then still keep the internal behavior the same.

Unfortunately, I failed to consider outside calls when I first set this up, so I didn't make them non-DID.
I could direct them to another station, but that uses up another license for each door and it also incurrs an additional bill from my service provider.
In the end we restricted all the stations external to this work group and restricted the attendants from completing calls to those door numbers.
One more thing would make it perfect, I wish there were a way to have the calls waved off instead of going to the attendants. I haven't figured that out yet.
Thanks for your input,
-Randy

Setup a coverage path on that station. Make outside calls route to an announcement that this station does not receive outside calls.

Code:
add coverage path next Page 1 of 1
                                 COVERAGE PATH

                   Coverage Path Number: 186
Cvg Enabled for VDN Route-To Party? n Hunt after Coverage? n
                       Next Path Number: Linkage

COVERAGE CRITERIA
