Hi everyone.

It's been a few years since I worked with Server 2003 and I seem to have forgotten loads!

Now using SBS 2003 SP2

Can anyone remind me how to:

1. Restrict internet access for certain groups & users?
2. Restrict users installing software?

Thanks a million!

Scott

Yes I would like also to know how to do this?

You can use AD and create OU and place non internet users there. Setup GPO and add false proxy IP address and set it so that users can't change their Internet connection settings.

Make domain users restricted or power users on their pc's.

Thanks maya14.

Could you give me a step by step guide on how to perform this?

Thanks a million!

1. Server management/advance management/AD users and comp/domain name/MyBusiness/Users/SBS Users. Create OU for non Internet users and add or move users to OU.Right click on OU/properties/group policy or first create new GPO and configure GPO.

2. Control Panel/Users/Change relevant domain user to most restricted level.
