I have an XP machine that needs to be set up so that just the administrator can logon or one restricted user. This machine is part of a domain in a process control network.

Basically I need to logon to this machine and a view only operator.

Thanks.

Remove everyone except admin and operator from local user group.

Or use gpedit.msc on the XP machine and remove the "log on locally" privilege from everyone except those same two users.

Should be something like:

Click Start, click Run, and then type gpedit.msc to start the Group Policy Editor snap-in. Go to: Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings, Local Policies. User Rights Assignment, right-click Log on Locally.
