Hi,
I was wondering if ou are able to restore a sql database to the same server, with the same patch, but with a different database name?
The reason i ask is, if a database becomes corrupt, and we want to restore the backed up version, but with a different name. This would allow us to peform analysis on why the original became corrupt.

Thanks
D

Its ok I found the option.
When you select the database and click recover selected go to advanced, and change the database name in there. You cant restore the the same location, as the original database with the renamed database. You have to select a new location and restore the renamed database into that.

check that you have SP3 if you are using V6.1 - we encountered a lot of problems trying to restore to different named databases until we installed SP3

there seems to be atleast 10+ patches for SQL that I counted that are post sp2. Like dall said - get sp3 on ASAP.
