restoring server

I'm in need of repartitioning my server. I currently have 3 Partitions at 12 GB each and want to make them into 2 of 18 GB each. I have a full backup of data and the system state. Will NTBackup on the reformated server recognise the media and can i restore to 2 partitions of greater size?
