I cannot restore a particular mailbox from a brick backup as it states 'access denied'.
I have been able to restore another mailbox from this backup which is Veritas Backup v8.5 with Exchange 5.5. Even before the failed restore I can see the mailbox contents.
Has anyone come across this before???

SOmething similar, I restored a users Mailbox (which I first had to create with Exchange Admin). Everthing finally works but I get an event log message evertime she opens it saying she is not the primary owner of the mailbox but she is). In my case I believe it's that her old mailbox was tombstoned and never actually purged.

I have had the same problem.

is the mailbox you are restoring displayed in the backup selections list?

I tried to restore a deleted mailbox after recreating a replacment only to find that the mailbox has to exist in the backup selections before Veritas can do a restore, however it will only appear after you have sent an e-mail to the new account. Now you should be able to either redirect to the new account or replace the account if it was called exactly the same as it appears in the Restore selections

Hope this helps.
