I've got an old version of Brightstor (But it works!) V9.0 build 2200 (SP2) on a Dell Poweredge 2600 with Python DDS4 Drive.

I'm attempting to restore a specific file on a tape that no longer exists in the Database. I'm sure this is possible, but how?

You see, if my Server was to die, then the Database would be lost anyway and you'd be forced to recover from the tapes. I think that's a fair assumption!

The manual has left me no choice but to post here:)

Have you merged the tape back into the database?

Anndy, I certainly have not, and that's probably where I'm going wrong as I'm quite capable of restoring from tapes that are already listed in the Database.

Now to figure out how to merge the tape back in, unless someone reads this before I manage it and posts a how to :)

Utilities > Merge.

Simple when you know how ;)

Thanks Anndy - Your response was exactly what I was looking for.
