restoring DC

I have a windows 2000 server as a DC.
i take the system state backup & full system backup regulary.but yesterday my DC crash down.
I installed a new windows 2000 copy & now i want to restore the data.
what will be the bast to restore.Pls tell me the full steps to restore.I have to configure the new copy of windows 2000 on network or not.I have to run DCPROMO before restoration or not.

You must restore AD & System State in Directory Restore mode (F8 during boot). May I suggest you check on the web using "2000 Directory Restore" as a search for how to proceed.
