I am trying to restore some brick level exchange backups from an old server. This particular backup is an incremental backup. I have set up an NT4/exchange 5.5 machine to restore to. I created the user inbox and initalized it. But the backup process fails no matter what I do. Any suggestions?

enable debug and ck the log. The DB Agent debug logs are pretty good at providing details. The debug instructions are in a doc at the FAQ section.

Thanks for the info. I tried putting it into very verbose debug logs and it dosnt tell me anything. What happens is, the job crashed without any error messages. I select the mailbox i want to restore, then the mailbox in exchange i want to restore to. The tape finds the session, then says skipping... Then the drive goes silent for a minute and it says crashed.

Any ideas?

Don't know, but if it just says skipping it sounds like a procedural type thing, check the DB Agent manual to make sure the job is being setup correctly.
