restoring backup to disk files from older BE version

scenario:

real production backup server with backup-to-disk folder
that is running BE 10.1 rev 5629. I have backed up a server already and backups are there in a designated folder.


new test recovery server running in vmware with BE 11d installed and working.

I would like to import existing backup-to-disk set to
this newest version of BE and do a test restore to
another virtual machine.


problem is, I cannot figure out hot to import that older backup-to-disk folder from production server to test server that runs BE 11d.



there got to be a way to do this!

Create a backup to disk device on the new server.. Copy the contents of the existing folder to the new folder. In the devices tab, inventory that folder then catalog the individual pieces of media that is displayed in that folder.
