Hi,

I posted another topic this morning about a posted depreciation batch that posted with zero entries and should have had 250. One of the solutions was to restore from backup to come back to the point when the operation was still not done.

Now, we went into the "System information" in the Help Menu and we noticed the application was installed on the server on C:/Program Files/ACCPAC and that shared data directory was stored on the same server on /cicfin/a4w/pluswin .... When we click the "Modules" button we see that most of the files are on C:/Program Files/Accpac and other ons D:/PVSW...

We restored all directories above from yesterday's backup, but when we reopen ACCPAC, the erroneous depreciation batch is still there..... How do we know what to restore and where it is located on the server? Any help is appreciated

We are using ACCPAC 5.2

That depends on the database you are running, none of the settings you mentioned actually point to where the data resides.
You need to go to Accpac's Database Setup and look what database it is linked to (either Pervasive or MS SQL) and then restore the relevant data. With Pervasive you restore the data folder after deleting the existing data - or better still rename the data folder just in case you need to keep it.
With MS SQL speak to your IT person responsible for managing the server.

Thank you.

After I log on I see a Pervasive.SQL logo appear briefly so I assume the databse is linked to Pervasive.

How do I access Accpac's database setup to make sure?

Thanks again

Start, Programs, Accpac, Database Setup.
You can also run a4wdiag and open the log file and look at the bottom of the file, all the info is there.
You need to look in PCC where the DSN is pointing and that is the data that needs to be restored.

I looked into the Database setup program and ran the a4wdiag

both say the databse is located on cicfin/A4W/PLuswin/Data/CICDAT

if i get this correctly, I must rename the data folder that is actually inside that folder and replace it with the backep up folder?
