Restore VLDB data into Sql database

Is it possible to merge old data that was backed up on VLDB into a new SQL database?

Restore the VLDB, apply SP4 and all post-SP4 patches. Then run setupsql to create the 'asdb' database in SQL. Then run DBTOSQL.EXE in the arcserve directory. It will take several hours to complete. Use the DBTOSQL.LOG to monitor progress.

I got this error message then I try to do this:

"Invalid file header signature"
"Invalid file trailer signature"

Then I scan the tapes (running a raidset)arcserve doesent find any session.
But then I force arcserve to skip session (a regedit hack)it finds data on tape but is not able to merge it into Sql database.

If you are trying to merge a single session, then try deleting any records for that backup tape in the database, inventory it, then in merge, only choose the session that you need to restore from.
