How to restote only one directory from a mksysb??? the fastest way..
 

restore -xdvf /dev/rmt0 ./usr/tmp

If it's a mksysb done on AIX 4, you'll need to skip over
the boot stuff.
Try:

cd /
tctl -f /dev/rmt0 rewind
restore -s4 -xdvf /dev/rmt0.1 ./usr/tmp

 
Hi,
you can restore the files/directory you need relative to any directory.
cd /any_dir
and then restore .....
