Restore My Documents from deleted user profile

We used roaming profiles and the companies partners split up and now we no longer have access to our other Domain Controller. A user that was using a roaming profile had all his documents stored locally in his profile. That local profile was deleted through (right click my computer > properties > advanced tab > settings button under user profiles) and now all his my documents are gone.

Is there any way to restore them, I tried system restore but no luck.

Are there any known backups floating around?

Can you clarify as to where the files were actually held, on the local machine, or on the other server that the ex-partner has custody of?

the files were actually held on the other server that the ex-partner has custody of and we are trying to get the back up from him, unfortunately it is a few weeks old

If you synchronized the files you can sometimes discover a copy on the local machine. Try doing a search for some of the documents on the c drive to discover the location. Be sure to check off the options to check system flies and also hidden under advanced options. There could be temp files. Also have you checked in the Recycle Bin?(sorry if this is too obvious)

yeah i searched both the temp files and recycle bin with no luck.

thanks linney, i used pc inspector and got back all the files, i had to do some searching but that program is so easy to use.
