restore from mics 6 to mics 6.1

Hi every one, I am planning to upgrade from MICS 6.0 to 6.1
Does any one know if I can backup the system programing from 6 and restore it 6.1.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

You don't have to but it is a good idea to anyway in case something goes wrong.

Do you mean it will work?
You see MFG is shiping me a new card with the software already installed.
So I have 2 choices either reprogram
or restore from 6.

The restore operation looks at the system id, so if it doesn't change you should be fine. Otherwise, you may need a regression code.

In order to perform this upgrade and keep programming, you will need to order the upgrade tool from Nortel. This will be good for any system upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1

The upgrade tool is only required for upgrades pre 4.0. per installer guide. proceedures are remove power (and all amp cables for some reason) pull old flash card(CS ROM), install new flash(CS ROM) card, power up.

like I said earlier make a backup, it dosen't hurt to have one on hand in case of unforseen reasons.
