Hi everybody,

having trouble figuring out how to take my old tapes (previous server install) and read their contents with a new TapeWare installation (same server, new harddrives). Is there a way to browse the contents of the tapes I have leftover? I don't know what data is on these tapes, and can't figure out how to find out.

I'm really lost, and as you can imagine, it's quite important!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you need is to load the tapes and run the catalogue command, this will read the tape and create a catalogue on the new server, or extract a already made catalogue from the tape.
Another option is if you have saved the backup with the OBDR option is to boot from the tape and restore the data to the new disk, but this is limited usualy only when restoring to the same server with new identical disk as previous one.
