Hi everybody [smile], I'm new to this forum and thanks for accepting my subscription [smile]
I'm running a restore with NBU 6.05. All backup session are ok but as soon as I try to restore files I receive this message:
the restore failed to recover the requested files(5)
As info:
TAR EXITING WITH STATUS = 40
TAR RESTORED 0 of 0 FILES SUCCESSFULLY
TAR KEPT 0 EXISTING FILES
TAR PARTIALLY RESTORED 0 FILES.
Status of restore from image created dd/mm/yyyy hh.mm.ss = media read error
INF-Status = the restore failed to recover the requested files.

Does it really be the media that created error?...
(I also tried with other backup for a set of 5 weeks where all jobs were completed successfully... and... NO WAY.. NO restored file)

Do you have any idea of what can be the issue?

Thanks to those will reply... [smile]

Hi,

this tells you only that it wasn't able to recover your files.
How is your environment? NBU 6.05 is very old. You should have 7.6.1.2 or 7.x its much better,
with fewer errors and problems.
We need som more Information.

Bye

Hi fizelsche,
thanks for replying... :)
Well.. I should probably agree with you on NBU 7.x but...
Unfortunately the company moved out from NBU and I had (until last Friday) a server running NUB 6.05
So now we're using another backup application that works for the company policy.
At the moment NBU has been stopped since Jul 31st.
(Now it is just curiosity and I don't want to use my time to investigate and my thought is that there was a problem with the software or DB not with media...)

So.. Really thank you and have a nice Monday
