I've upgraded to Panther on my PowerBook. When I try to restore a image to another computer using Disk Utility, I get a message that the restore failed - lost connection to helper tool. Any help with this will be appreciated.

I'd be glad to help you. However, I need you to start from the beginning for me. Why are you trying to restore an image? What are you trying to accomplish with that other computer? What is the intended goal here?

Thanks,

- MT

I was able, a couple of days ago, to get my PowerBook to restore images again but only after I formatted my hd and installed the original 10.2 PowerBook software and did an upgrade to Panther instead of a new install. I use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a disk image of an Apple iBook. Then I use firewire to connect the source and destination and use Disk Utility (restore) in Panther to restore that image to other iBooks in a lab environment - so easy and nice when it works. However, my problem is solved - thanks for the offer to help though.
