Restore backup BCM400

I have A: BCM 400 Release 4.0.2.03 and B: BCM 400 Release 4.0.2.03a, the diferent is the 'a', I make a backup from A to use on B but I getting a error message:

Core telephony restore failed due to an invalid image size. restore
incomplete system integrity is not quaranteed.

Do I have to make a upgrade?

different version s/w. Do both have the same patches loaded?

no they haven't, could be the problem? can I upgrade 4.0.2.03 to 4.0.2.03a?

Just load the latest SU_System Patch on both, do your backup on A and restore on Bcm B.The SU will apply the same core version and it will work.
