restore a client computer on a different backup server

I need to recover several sdlt tapes that were created using Networker 6.2 . I've installed a fresh copy of Networker 7.1. Could someone tell me the basic steps I need to perform to scan and inventory these old tapes?

check the scanner command. This will give you a place to start.

You have to manualy load the tape (not mount)

nsrjb -l -n -f <device> -S <slot>
(assuming you use a Jukebox)

then scan the tape:

scanner -i <device>
(could be a long process...)
