I've gotten some pretty bizzare things to work just by trying what "they" said wouldn't work. I'm guessing you're going to get the message" Couldn't restore the data base as it was created using a different version". Try it and if it doesn't work you can always do a cold reset.
The fact is I have a BCM450 Rls5.0 in my lab and the customer has a BCM450 Rls1.0. I would like to work on the configuration in my lab and restore this config on the client's BCM.
Otherwise I could upgrade the BCM450 Rls or change the HDD but cheaper the better
I will try and let you know.
That assumes your lab BCM450R5 has appropriate keycodes so you can test (all depends what you are trying to achieve).
For the sake of testing only (Avaya insist that a HDD from a BCM must be imaged to the same version, and an official FRU), have you considered installing Acronis True Image 2011, and downloading the .TIB files, to restore to a spare HDD?
If you have any old .TIB files, I recommend you download these. Take it from me, I spent most of the afternoon trying to restore a 450r5 on a spare HDD, downloaded the latest version from support.avaya.com and it applied first time.
