Restart SBC Application via crontab?

All,

I've got a strange issue where my SBC stops processing calls and doesn't fail over correctly. It happens once every couple of months. We get zero notifications and we can't see anything in the logs that point us in the right direction. We simply log into the EMS and restart the application and calls start flowing again.

We've tried to upgrade the SBC but are running into issues with the upgrade process.

So my simple solution to fix this would be a crontab entry that restarts the application on the SBC, however I can't find a lot of documentation on the CLI for avaya sbcs.

Anyone know the application restart application command or have any luck adding something similar to the crontab of the sbc?

Wouldn't it be better to get the issue solved?

You don't mention anything about which version you're running, but if there is an upgrade you should start by upgrading.
If the problem continues you should make a ticket with Avaya, or if you're the customer then you business partner should help you.

Adding it to crontab isn't really a resolution.

It would absolutely be the best case to get it resolved, but unfortunately that is not in the cards at this point in time.

Restarting the service via the crontab once a week is a solution and a better one that we currently have in a place which is currently me restarting the service when someone can't call out, usually someone important.

This work around at least buys me time and patches my issue until we can fully address it.
