Hi, I need to create a Ressource Planner within MS Project.
The idea is to create one Master Plan that is collecting its information from different individual Project Plans.
Than the ressources to the individual workers must be assigned and higlighted if a worker is already overloaded. Can anybody help me. We can also discuss about a little fee if it is necessary. I just need to get this done quickly and don't know how.

Thanks

Are you looking to assign workers to a project and monitor their workload?

If so the best thing to do is to open a new project file and crete a resource sheet with all your employees listed on it. this creates a pool from which you can allocate people. After you have done this you can go back to your project plan and assign people to different projects/tasks. If they are over assigned this will show in red in resource usage view.

is this what you are looking for? hope it helps.

Hi,

thats exactely what I need. I have a resource sheet but I do not know how to link the resources from one project plan to the resource sheet. At the moment we have 5 projectplans that all fall back to the same ressources.
Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.
Nick

1. Open both your resource pool and your project.
2.in your project go to tools - Resource Sharing - Share Resources
3. click on "use resources" and from the drop down list select your pool - press ok.
4. now click on the task you want to assign people to.
5. at the top of your screen there should be a symbol with two peoples' heads on? click this. or go to tools - assign resources
6. a box will come up with all your people listed. just select the people you need and press assign.

I find the best way to distribute and monitor resources time is in the resource usage view. this allows you to specify 4 hrs here 4hrs there etc and will highlight in red where people are over allocated.

repeat this process for all your projects and each file will work from the same pool.
make sure both the pool and your project are open when editing.

I just tried this and it works great. How can I thank you? You saved me!!
