Hi

I have one file for resources and 2 files for projects.
They are connected.

When I updated the resources vacation the end date in the project files changed.

Settings are:
Fixed duration
Not effort driven

What I want the MS to do:
The end date should never change
If 2 resources is working 8 hours a day I want the time to be 16 hours, if 1 more joins the project, 24 hours.

I just want the working time per resourse to change, not the time for the project.

Hello erasvli,

You have two different issues going on in your post:

Project can only schedule work for resources during working time in their calendar. If a resource is schedule for 24 hours of work spread over 3 days and you suddenly say one of those days is non-working, the end date of the task much change. Setting the task as fixed duration will not solve this as it is intrinsic to how Project works.

By using non-effort driven tasks, you should see work increase for each resource added, so your comment:

"If 2 resources is working 8 hours a day I want the time to be 16 hours, if 1 more joins the project, 24 hours."

should be what you are seeing if you add or subtract named resources.

I guess my question to you, is what did you expect Project to do when you placed a resource on vacation? If i have 24 hours of work to perform over three days and I take one of the three days as vacation -- should I only do 16 hours of work instead of the 24 hours?
