I am running BE 9.0 on a Win NT 4.0 server

I can not get a 100% completed backup.

I get the same error everytime and can not find it.

Here is what I get,
Error Category: Resource Error
Error Code: a000fe09
Error Description: The Directory is invalid

How do you find the invalid directory. I am backing up 5 different servers.

Hi jhschell,
I had the same thing and found your thread.
in my case there was a directory wich i had deleted.

1. From the Job Definitions tab, right-click on the backup job which produced the error, and then select Properties.

2. Select the Selections tab.

4. Under Display options, select Text version.

5. Locate and remove all references to the directory producing the error.
hope it works 4U too! let us know

But the problem is I am backing up 9 different servers at once. I have no idea if a directory has been deleted or not. Will I have to go through ALL the servers and the directories to compare? This could be over 200 diferent directories and that would not include sub-directories.

Change the logging option of Backup exec to include directories and files summary - its under tools, Options.

Then check the log to see where the invalid directory is.

BE should log errors at the bottom in the html page - orange for exceptions, red for errors.
