I am trying to backup Exchange Mailboxes and Public Folders using Backup Exec 10. I am getting an error (unable to attach) that appears to be happening because the logon account specified is unable to access the mailboxes, etc. When I run a “test” on resource credentials for Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes and Microsoft Exchange Public Folders, I get an “access denied” on both. I assume this is what is causing the “unable to attach” error message on the backup.
I am using the default logon account that has always been used for this backup job. However, we only recently began attempting to backup the mailboxes and public folders. We have been getting the “unable to attach” error since then.
Any ideas on why the resource credentials “test” would generate the “access denied” error?
