Resource Credentials Problem – Backup Exec 10 2

I am trying to backup Exchange Mailboxes and Public Folders using Backup Exec 10. I am getting an error (unable to attach) that appears to be happening because the logon account specified is unable to access the mailboxes, etc. When I run a “test” on resource credentials for Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes and Microsoft Exchange Public Folders, I get an “access denied” on both. I assume this is what is causing the “unable to attach” error message on the backup.

I am using the default logon account that has always been used for this backup job. However, we only recently began attempting to backup the mailboxes and public folders. We have been getting the “unable to attach” error since then.

Any ideas on why the resource credentials “test” would generate the “access denied” error?
 
When you create a new backup job can you selecte the mailboxes..most likely not.
Whatever account your using that mailbox must NOT be hidden from the Global address list and have full right in exchange.

 
I'm actually having the same issue. Only we've been successfully backing up the mailboxes up until Tuesday night (10/31). Suddenly the backups fail and when I check the credentials, I receive a "Accessed Denied" on the W2003 Exchange Mailboxes.

I've checked the account in Exchange and it does have full rights to the exchange server. The password has not changed either.
 
What Im saying is the account you using the mailbox must be visible in the exchange global address list
 
I just noticed that. I changed the account from global to restricted in BE's Resource Credentials. The Test results were successful.
