I'm asking a silly question of "Resetting a IP phone after it was unplugged during a upgrade". The course instructor mentioned that you "brick" the phone if it is unplugged when it tells you not to unplug it on an upgrade.

Is there any workaround method avaiable that can restore the phones again please?.

Hello Firebird,

The only work around would be to send it off to get repaired. I'm going to base this off, you are at a client site, you have plugged phones in and they are upgrading and the switch goes down. and then the phone is bricked.
But depending on the level of "bricked" you can potentially get one working again.

Thank you,
Y

Hello Yuix

Many thanks for taking the time to reply back. I had suspected that there wasn't any hidden reset sequence or dipswitch etc to default the phone back to a useable state. My question was just to find out what was possible as some of the older Nortel IP ones could be reset using some "SKS" Silly Key Sequence method.
