Hi

I have recently taken on responsibility for a phone system part of which is an Avaya Modular Messaging system version 3.0. Someone in the office has forgotten their voicemail password so I want to reset it, but I have no idea how to do this. The phone system runs on it's own POE network with the software running on a Windows servers with it's own domain. I can run the 'Voicemail Configuration Manager' and view all of the system wide settings but nothing user specific. In the manual it seems to suggest that it's possible to set up the users in the domain with an extended set of properties for each user, however when I go into active directory there are no users other than the site admin users. So I am looking for alternative ways that the users can be setup.

Cheers

Stuart

With the Exchange backend Modular Messaging, there are two ways to find the user. In the ADUC you can search by name and if there is a Modular Messaging tab then you can reset the password. The other way to identify is on the Modular Messaging MAS server under C:\Avaya_Support\Tools\FEDBQueryGUI which you can search by mailbox number.

This sounds like a system using an MSS backend. If the system has an MSS backend you can log into the MSS using Internet Explorer and from there goto Subscriber Management, put in the mailbox number you will to edit and in the mailbox you can reset the password. This is covered in the MSS Admin guide that you can download from support.avaya.com.

In the VMSC (Voice Mail System Configuration) under the Messaging Application section at the bottom, if you double-click Messaging do you see it show the Peer as MSS1 or something else?
