hi

i have one of the Mitel 3300 units and i cannot login to the web browser. would anyone be able to tell me how to reset the password please.
i have a seen a thread about this but it didn`t do much help. in that thread james1982 was telling to get connected with a console cable. will i be able to do it with a normal patch
lead connecting to the Lan port. if it can be done please guide me through anyone.

Thanks a lot

hoping to here from anyone asap...

Thanks again

sorry i have to tell that its a Mitel 3300 MXe

Dude we have no idea who you are and it would be irresponsible on my part to tell you how to circumvent the products security. Sorry but I suggest contacting your dealer.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

i work for a telecomms company and we have this system sitting in our office for years. we exchange the unit to a 5000. tried contacting the company who had the unit but no one seems to know what the password was. if you dont wanna help me that`s fine mate. thanks for the reply anyway.

The only options are to use the procedures outlined here in the forums. They do seem to vary based on software load so the reason james1982 suggestion didn't work is you might have a different load. The other option do a manual software install, but that will wipe out the database.

This is dependant on software revision.....

This should be done from the maintainance port, if you are only connected via IP then open Putty and open a RAW connection to the controller on port 2002 then type...

4.1 and above:-

type the command ResetAllLoginPasswords (see Below)

-> ResetAllLoginPasswords
Attempting to Reset Password for all System Admin Users.
The password has been successfully reset to default password 'password' for User
'cvd'.
Resetting Password for all System Admin Users complete.
value = 0 = 0x0

If you know the user name that you wish to reset you can do this using the following

-> ResetLoginPassword "system"
Attempting to Reset Password for User 'system'.
The password has been successfully reset to default password 'password' for User
'system'.
value = 0 = 0x0

For sytems at 4.0 and below:-

From the maintenace port type

cd "/db/database/files"

rm "usrprfle.db"

A reboot is required to complete.

Thanks guys for the reply

I have tried login in with the hyper terminal.
Tried with ssh and telnet. Still it was asking for
Use name and a password. I have no idea what the system
Version is even. This system is not in use anymore
So it doesn't matter if I have to reset the db. So guys
What's you solution for this.

Thanks again

If you don't need the data on it anymore, just re-load the hard drive manually.

thanks for the reply. would you be able to guide me how to re load the hard drive please.

tomjrobertson thanks for the reply. i think your solution will work for sure. but when i start the hyper terminal session it is still asking for
a user name and a password. if you suggest a method to bypass that it would be great.

thanks

Connect a RS232 cable to the console port on the front of the controller and do it from there.

To re-load a hard drive, follow the instructions in the Technician's Handbook to manually install software.

i did manage to reset the system password.. thank you very much guys.
