Is there any way to determine the Second Level Adminstrator passworD PWD2?

Also can any maybe tell me why I can't access LD 117, 137 in my switch. I'm trying to go in and clean things up and
finding that I can't access these loads.

BECAUSE YOUR PASSWORD DOESN'T HAVE ACCESS TO THOSE OVERLAYS, REASON UNKNOWN. AND AS FAR AS THE 2ND LEVEL PASSWORD, IF THE MONEY IS THERE ANYTHING CAN BE DONE

To clean the system up correctly you will still need Level 2 password. Nortel will do it for a price as long as the switch is registered to you.

Well I'm not going to worry about the password issue right now. But what alternatives do I have to use if 117 and 137 don't exist in my switch.

Of course everything comes with a price. I would think that there is a way for me to change the PW2 password with out having to go through Nortel.

I'm sort of stuck it sound like with out spending a little money.

It sound's as if I'm stuck then. What alternative loads can I use if 117 and 135 aren't available.

Also I would think there has to be a way for me to change the password without having to contact Nortel.

I'm open to idea's and solutions.

You can change the 2nd level password but only if you know it. Think about it if anyone could just go in and change it then why have it at all.

Sorry about the repeated message, my screen isn't updating correctly.

But, True...

before ld 137, we used ld 37, ld 137 was out around rls 16, ld 117 might have came out with 21.. someone here will know

Thx. I finally finished cleaning my other switch after about 5 yrs of putting it off and figured I might as well go on and clean this one also. And I ran into these problems.

Another thing I noticed is that I can't use the "!" mark to look up error codes when then pop up in here also. Any idea in what maybe causing that?

That feature also came out in the later rls. what rls is this system?

As your system is a Option 11 V20.22, then you could just print "PWD" in LD 22. enter in your password. If you get a error "SCH" code, then I guess that your password is the PWD1 access level.
If you key in $$ before you log in, do you get a message on the screen?.

All the best

The comments about cleaning the switch have my interest. I inherited a switch that's not been very well taken care of. What should I be looking for in these loads to "clean it up?" What other steps can I take to clean it up?

I already plan to out and determ the TNs that show up in the nightly as disabled.

I also went through Mermail and dumped a bunch of stale mailboxes, and my disk usage went from 95% to 55%. Imagine that!!

I don't get the stale mailbox report automatically anymore. Any ideas what I accidentally may have done to shut it off?

When I first joined this list, I think it was JohnPoole who listed things he does when he gets to a new switch.

Thanks for the additional references, Firebird.
