Reset IPSI to factory defaults?

Does anyone know how to do this?
It seems a lot quicker than ordering replacements all the time.
Why isn't there a cli command for this?!?!?!?!?!
Or is there?
 
Reseat the IPSI and depress the small button on the face of the card until the LED display lights up. Let go of the button as soon as as the display lights or it may not restore defaults, otherwise try, try again.
 
1. unplug the IPSI
2. on inserting back in and within 5 secs press the reset button just below the 3 top leds.
3.The first digit if the led is flashing,get it to "I" (like I for Ice) by hitting the reset button
4.Wait for the second digit to flash,get it to 0(like zero) by hitting the reset button.
5.Wait for the third digit to flash,get it to 0(like zero) by hitting the reset button.
6.Wait for the reset of the circuit pack.
7.The display now shows IP and you can assign the static IP address.

Have you guys been enabling QOS like the book says?
That will absolutely leave you out of business on a SIPI.

I was wondering if that setting srewed up the IPSI as well?
I'm leaving it off from now on to see if my luck changes.

You don't need to set the IPSI to "I00" to assign a static IP address. To get the IPSI to save the IP addresses you must type "exit" after running the "set control interface.." command, log back in, and then "exit" again as soon as you run "set control gateway.." command, then reset the board. If this doesn't help, you might need to replace the board.

You would only enable QoS on the IPSI if Layer 2 QoS is being used on the switches. More often than not, if QoS is being used, it's at Layer 3 with Diffserv and RSVP.

Voicedataman, I tried the "I00" to see what would happen (I've never heard of that being used for this) but the IPSI reset itself to A00. I'm not trying to contradict you, but I'm curious as to where this came from.
 
I should clarify what I said about QoS in the post above:

1)I was referring to being logged into the IPSI. "show qos" will display:
Call Control 802.1p: 6
Call Control Diffserv: 46
Enable VLan tag: off

VLan tagging is at Layer 2, and if you enable it in the IPSI the switches must also be set up for VLan tagging.

2)The QoS setting in "change ips 1" screen from ASA refers to layer 3, and defines if QoS is being used in the control link from the S8700 to the IPSI. If it is turned on from this screen, it must also be turned on in "Configure Server" from the Web Interface. But, we've also had problems when doing this, as you have, and the general thinking has been that enabling QoS from the server also enables VLAN tagging from the server, which won't work if vlan tagging is off on both the IPSI and the switches in the middle. I haven't tested this, but maybe someone else out there has.....

Anyhow, I think it basically comes down to always leaving it off..........

 
Exactly what I was thinking about the QOS.
Since 99 out of 100 are on the control network,I'm leaving it off.VoiceDataman's procedure worked fine,and I was able to re-program the IPSI.It still turned out to be bad-the replacement I brought with me worked fine-with QOS parameters left at default.
ESS is up and running!
And I didn't even have to call Avaya to get the IPSI com ports unlocked-NICE!
