Hello all. Newbie to the forum here, also new to Extreme switches. I have a brand new switch that I configured today. Set userid's and passwords, but upon logging out and trying to get back in via console, the uid/pw combo is not working. None of the Ethernet interfaces appear to be active either. I wanted to just set the unit back to factory defaults, but am having problems. Hitting the spacbar upon boot does get me to a "BootStrap" prompt as opposed to BootRom, and the options are very limited. I have read where entering "configuration none" then boot does the trick, however "configuration" or "config" is not an option in BootStrap mode. Any help that anyone can provide me would be so appreciated. Thanks!

A switch boots in three steps. The first – BootStrap, second – BootRom, third – XOS. You are at BootStrap. You have to input command “boot” and immediately press spacebar. So you will come into BootRom. There you can reset config with lost password.

Kind regards,
Hh

Hh,

Thank you very much. You're explanation and recommendation worked perfectly. I am ever so grateful to you...thanks again.
