Reset Computer In AD 1

In 'Active Directoru users And Computers' there is an option to right click a computer and select 'Reset Account'.

If I understand the dry help correctly, taking this option will refresh the internal password authentication between the computer and AD. Presumably AD re-issues a password to the computer. This is a password we never see, it's something AD does in tha background.

If I'm right - what circumstances would require somebody to take the step of reseting the computer from AD?

periodically the machine and the active directory establish a new password between themselves. But if say for example a machine hasn't been on the network for sometime and has missed these synchronizations, then it would be useful to reset it.
I know from using virtual software like VMware you need to do that as you revert the virtual machine back to older "snapshots". But occasionally this doesn't even work and you need to remove the machine from the domain and re-join again.
hope this helps.

Ok...so this 'password' is just an internal one.
Users/Administrators have no control over it in the way we do over user account passwords?
