Hi all,

About a year ago we removed our Avaya Partner ACS R8.0 and upgraded to an Asterisk VoIP system. The system has been sitting in a closet since and I'm getting ready to sell it. (If you're interested, please get in touch.)

I need to remove all voicemails, AA, speed dials, etc. because I don't know where this system will end up in the future. I have already run a "#989". However, I now cannot access the voicemail system. Dialing 777 or hitting the "Access Voicemail" button just gives me a busy tone. The light of the Partner Messaging unit is orange... it was like that before I ran the #989 default. A 6-port access card is installed is installed. What could be the cause of this and is there a solution?

Thank you all for your help[thanks]. I also want to say that this forum has been very helpful over the past years--- I would like to specifically thank TouchToneTommy for his help in the past.

Thanks again!
Sam

Wiping the processor before the voicemail took the VM ports out of Hunt Group 7. Put the VM module in the 1st slot of the carrier, and put Ext. 19 into the group with #505-7-19-1, then 777 will be answered by VM.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I tried that and it turns out Extension 19 was already in hunt group 7. I removed all other extensions that were in that group and still cannot get VM to answer. The Voicemail module still has an orange light- (it was green in pictures from when it was in service). I had the same issue before I ran the #989 reset.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Sam

Well, although you only need ONE port to answer when you dial 777, try putting all 6 VM ports in the group. Since the ACS is an R8, and it's 10-18, the VM is 19-24. See if it's happier that way. Make sure the port license card is in the right slot, and fully seated. Otherwise, the VM may have died while it was disconnected.

Reseating both modules and reprogramming the VM ports did the trick. The modules probably got lose because of the movement. VM can be accessed fine now.

As for the reset- if I run a #989, set Auto Backup to active - internal, set the date to Feb 1st and the time to 1:59 will it override everything that might still be backed up? There isn't any backup cards.

Thank you!
