reset Arcserve 15 client password

Hello everybody,

i need to know how to reset the arcserve 15 password for client agents.


the client machine is an Microsoft windows server 2003 R2
Standard X64 Edition
Service pack 2

the software is in the standard folder
c:\program files...


yesterday i had an error on a client machine:

E3392: backup server TCP reconnection timeout. (AGENT=WTS06 @10.3.0.206)

i have restarted the 2 services on the WTS06 and today i got the message:

E8535: Failed to receive data from the agent (Node=WTS06 @10.3.0.206)

tried to restart the services again but that can't be the reason that it lost it's password..

it always worked before and the username and password is correct or somebody else has changed it.
therefor i need to know how to reset it back to the normal credentials.

i don't think the command:
ca_auth -user caroot chgpasswd XXXXX still works in arcserve 15 because i can't find the auth setup

I don't follow the logic. Based off the data provided I see no reason to suspect a password problem. That I would expect would result in some kind of failed to connect message.

Based off the messages it seems the connection was made but then lost. Either something is tying up the agent or there is some kind of network problem most likely.

but nevermind we deleted the agent and reinstalled it.
after that it was succesvol again last night.
