reset 2514 1

hello all:

i have an old 2514 which i no loner need. i forget the password to log onto it? is there anyway to reset to factory defaults without knowing the password?

going straight to ebay after it is reset.

press the break key while booting up then type confreg 0x2142 and the rommon> prompt then reset and then copy running-config to start-up config at the Router# prompt and it will be back to defaults configs.

confreg 0x2142 (then hit enter)

did not work... new to cisco... any help would be great!

Try entering o/r 0x2142 instead at the > prompt

In fact here is the full procedure to break into a 2500. Once you're in enable mode, you can issue a 'write erase' followed by 'reload' to restore the device to default.
