My company is looking at upgrading our VOIP system. We currently have Mitel 3300 ICP controllers (MX/CX) for HQ and our remote offices. I was told that I cannot tranfer/resell this equipment. Is that true? I understand that the licenses are in my company's name and cannot be transferred. This question is specific to the hardware. Thanks.

You've nailed the difference. The Software and the System ID are not technically owned, but licensed.
My opinion only, the hardware can be sold as long as the System ID is not included. Best to check with Mitel regardless.

I believe you can sell however you need to provide evidence to the new owner of your system.
They can then use this to get the licences transferred into there new providers AMC back - from your current suppliers.
Liaise with your current provider and request they contact there mitel account manager

Ben, Newest software cannot be loaded on a MX and CX is doubtful.
Licenses can be transfered by Mitel but the cost is prohibitive.
