Per this same job:

We just swapped a Server out for a customer. They were on 2008 R2, and as our ONLY client on it; we wanted them, on good 'ole familiar Win7 Pro.

We were meticulous...about just making the new box, look exactly like the old box; and we got 99% there. All functionality is fine, except...

I have an SVC issue; and I always get burned by this...and it's because I suck, at SVC, lol [ponder]

So...it's not enough; to just move all the files over. Professional Services, the ISLs, etc.; right? You have to re-install the SVC...and then, use your old files; rather than re-inventing the wheel?

Yes you need to reinstall the SVC adapter then can transfer over your ISL files and configuration. Also remember to put your isl files into the cal folder for appropriate workstations.

Yeah; that's what I thought Wildbar. Thanks.

I just want to keep them where they were at. Their old server, has got 2 (old) versions of the SVC (4.2.6.436 being the newer of the 2) .exe

I wanted to check, and see if this is where they were at. Would have thought Version Info would have shown; but I didn't see it?

I've heard that SVC 4.2.7.460 is the latest SVC available, but I can only find 4.2.7.451. Would anyone have access to the latest version?

4.2.7.451 is the latest one on the Oracle site. I dont see any reference to the .460 unless its a custom one

So...can anyone remind me; where I can confirm the version of SVC, this client was running...on their old server. So that I can just re-install that, on their new one?

I don't feel the need, to create any problems...with an "upgrade".

@Wildbar - the latest Valutec2 Host Adapter Interface install doc from Oracle (attached) states that 4.2.7.460 is required. (see pic attached)

@HTS-Chris - this excerpt should help you locate theinstalled version of SVC on your RES 3700 system:

RES 3700
1) Navigate to the MICROS\Professional Services\StoredValueCard directory.
2) Identify the micros.ssf.dll.
3) Right click the micros.ssf.dll and select Properties.
4) Select the Details tab.
5) The version will be available under Product Version.

If the customer us icare then there is also a need to have the mymicros RTA installed. the communication will not work.

BUT if the DB is still the same and it is only moved to another server then i had success with
move the RTA and SVC Folder to the new server and Reinstall the Services it with the bat scripts in the directory.

the RTA i know it was a exe and the rta.conf as parameter....but i don't remember which exe it was for the rta..

Thanks Gents. Holding breathe; but it appears, to have gone swimmingly!
