Hi,
Does any one can provide help for upgrading res from 4.9 to 5.7 version.
I have live deployment of 4.9 version and ive installed 5.7 version on new maschine.
Ive found on forum explanation of upgrading database with preconvert script but dont quite understand how to do it under live 4.9 deployment

Is there any other way to upgrade old database?

Thanks.

Run DB backup up of 4.9, select first and last option while taking backup. Put Micros control panel in DB mode
Then place the pre-convert file in the C/D drive.
Launch DB manager application and select convert db and select the path of the script and apply.
Once pre-convertoin completed , take a backup and use the same db file for restoration to new system.

Thank you.

Use the existing 4.9 db server for pre-convertoin, and take the db backup file for restoration in to new 5.x server.

To pre-convert the database, follow these steps: 1. Make sure the 4.x database is running. 2. Copy 4xPreConvertTo5x.mcs from \support\ to a temporary folder. 3. Open Database Manager with a user count that has database rebuild privileges. 4. In Database Manager, navigate to Rebuild. 5. On the Update tab, click the folder icon below Apply Scripts. 6. Navigate to the temporary folder and select the copy of 4xPreConvertTo5x.mcs. 7. Click Apply Scripts. 8. On the Backup Database tab, select Backup Database. 9. Click Run. 10. Rename \Database\Data\Backup\Archive\4x.MBZ to PreConverted4x.MBZ and copy it to the RES 5.x server.
