Im working on a 3300 with 8.0 UR4. I know the "back line" setup is fairly common but for those who dont know what i'm talking about i'll explain. One most phones in the office you have a prime key and a back line key. So my phone for instance has a prime key of 3917 and a back line of 4917. I have call rerouting setup so if i am on the phone, the call will reroute to my back line. If I dont answer, the call just goes to voicemail.

This seems to work just fine until I set this up on a phone that is using Mobile Extensions. When you set it up on those phones, the call immediately goes to voicemail and lets you know " im sorry, that person is on the phone."

Is there anything that you guys can think of that would make a non mobile ext phone work and an ME phone not work. I called tech support but they were stumped on it. Mobile Ext department said it should work and the 3300 dept told me to call Me department.

Thanks

All I can surmise is that you have left something out of your description.

With the ME enabled phone the "Back Line" would be extraneous as the ME only works with prime lines and the prime lines must be set up as Keylines. (multicall not allowed I believe)

Has forwarding been enabled on the set? this would override the re-routing.

The logical setup would be that the second step be voicemail not the back line for ME enabled sets.

yes prime lines are twinned to cell phones....though I can log into the TUI and turn off ME for a user and it still doesnt reroute correctly. if you delete the ME profile and delete the line monitor, it will reroute correctly.

have you tried using forwarding instead of re-routing?

re-routing can be complicated when you are hoping more than once.

What do you mean by "delete the ME profile"?

kwb is onto the solution here. You can't use RR when you have ME enabled. You have to set up CF-busy at the set to the 2nd line.

basically I mean that I removed the line monitor, and deleted the profile from the mobile extension server for that phone. Once I do that, back line routing while busy works properly. Once you add ME back into the mix, goes stright to voicemail while the user is on the line.

Definitely try forwarding instead of Re-routing but be aware that when the backline is ringing the Cell phone won't ring.

As I said before, you CANNOT use Call Re-routing to forward an ME extension to another DN, you MUST use Call Forwarding to do this.

Hoorah, glad to help
