Hi,
recently I had an opportunity to talk to MS trainer about SSIS, he told me that an advantage of .dtsx packages is that it's possible to run them from any computer - I just have to prepare a package and then I can distribute it to other computers and run it.
Some things are a mystery to me though.
How is it possible to run a package since .dtsx is not an executable extension? I searched a little bit, and found that I need dtexec utility, is it right? If so, does that mean I have to install SQL Server to run .dtsx packages?
Could someone explain me that,please?
Cheers,
Mike
