I have a Partner ACS R6 / Messaging R6 system with 2 Auto Attends active currently. Each AA has its own group of lines assigned. The vp of the second group does not want his calls answered by AA, but prefers 'dedicated numbers' for both he and second associate in this group. I could have LEC create 2 distict hunt groups; but this does not appear to be an efficent use of 1MBs, ex.. If Bill is on conference call tying up both of his lines - an incoming call will result in BUSY signal. I do not want to go the route of having the LEC do Fwd on Busy and the such. Is there a 'clean' option for this type of request? Your input is appreciated.

No. These guys basically have only two lines. If both are both busy a third call will never reach you, it will get a busy from the CO. There is nothing you are going to do from your end. Since they want to answer their calls personally the only option is to add more lines just for them.

Hi niehoffer,
The only other option would be call answer. I know they don't want it but they can't have it both ways.

Now that I am thinking about it further.. if there is no Auto Attend directing calls and say for example lines 5&6 are assigned to Bill, and lines 7&8 are assigned to Ben, what will direct these lines to the appropriate voicemail extension on DND, RNA?? HELP!!!

If you want to assign lines to a particular ext. go into system programming #206, select option 3, then #208 and assign the ext. number. It will go to coverage with the number of rings you have set under #321.
