requested operation would cause one or more objects to be too small. Please check whether the stroke weight is too large."

Hello there does anyone know how to solve the above problem... i am getting this message every time I try to group and scale down a multiply of object within the page layout.

Thanks much appreciated.

did you ever find an answer for this because I am having the same difficulty, very annoying. I work with car ads and when I try to add a couple and group them and size them back down I get that message...argh.

Well,

I find this problem too but I decided to do one thing.

I save my classifieds in one other file(call it Ads) on different pages and export it to pdf.

Then come back to the original page delete what has failed to scale and replace with the pdf and keep it linked. Since it is like one image, it will scale with no complaint.

In any case of editing the placed advert, I go back to 'Ads', edit , save changes then update the placed file.

Hope it will stop annoyaces and arghs will go.

This is a wild guess.

I'm at a computer without InDesign, but..

Does making sure the "scale strokes" submenu on the "Transform" palette is checked solve the problem?

Do you realize that the stroke weight stays the same when "scale strokes" is checked. (Whereas in Illustrator it reduces)

It could solve the problem if the stroke weight reduced at a ratio corresponding to the scale degree.

InDesign 2.0 and lower version users dont have this option unless there is a plug in for it.
