Reprogramming a used system. 1

When I attempt to enter setup mode, I cannot apply any input on the password screen. I enter F**startup, but when it asks for the password, I am unable to input anything! I've tried the default password 'config' many times. I've tried rebooting the system for extended amounts of time, but I get the same result. Also, F983 is an inactive feature. Clearly, I do not know much about Nortel, so any detailed advice will go a long way!

The programming password has been changed. You'll have to search "Reset Norstar MICS Installer Password" to come up with the solution. (Feature ** DEBUG, etc.)

Even going into the 'DEBUG' option, I am unable to type in a password. When the system prompts me to enter a password, the 'end session' button will end the session, but all other buttons do nothing.

Did you change the time and date before doing the debug.

no i did not change the time or date. did not get past the password screen on the debug process.

You have to go into admin of the phone system to change the T&D to the appropriate one from the chart of the debug. Then debug will work, if you cannot change T&D their might be another option.

To use F**STARTUP you must power cycle the system then use F**STARTUP within 15 minutes of bootup.

F**STARTUP uses the config password
Debug uses a special password of the day

Voice Mail must be hooked up to ports just like a phone.

If you have a RAD you can hook that to the system and get or change the password.
