Reprinting Kitchen Chits - AlohaPOS 1

Hi all, wondering if there is a way to program a button for a server to reprint a kitchen chit (at the kitchen printer). Occasionally a ribbon plays up or a paper jam causes the kitchen to either miss, or only receive a partial chit. The problem is infrequent so i don't particularly want to duplicate every chit that gets sent to the kitchen by defaulting a second chit for each order

Currently our only workaround is to repeat the order in training mode and take the single print from the receipt printer back into the kitchen. This causes other problems though as the kitchen works off triplicate printed chits (entree's, mains and dessert sections), and it also takes time for our wait staff to repeat what can be a large order for a table of up to 30 people.

I can reprint a guest check using the standard Aloha functionality but would dearly love the ability to reprint the kitchen chit when necessary. Is anyone aware of a means to do this. Using Aloha Table Service version 6.7.59

After some research I found that this setting exists in Aloha POS Versions 12.3 and above. In NAM or CFC it will be controlled by POS access levels under : Maint>Labor>POS access levels>financial section

The setting is called: Resend chit to kitchen

It is described as : Resend chit to kitchen

— Allows employees assigned this access level to print a new kitchen chit by resending one or more items to the kitchen. This is useful in situations where an order with a missing item is delivered to a table or when the kitchen staff misplaces a kitchen chit. The Resend to Kitchen button appears on the FOH Financial screen. (in WWT>functions>financial) Documented Version: v12.3.

This would need to be set for every access level that would have order entry ability ie: Servers, Bartenders, Managers etc.

You wouldn't want to enable that for every order entry access level. The staff could resend stuff all night and pocket tons of cash. You'd want to limit this to those with manager access only, as it's basically telling the kitchen/bar to make something without a (unique) chit.
